Post Description
Folk, celtic, gaelic song, Scottish, Glasgow.
Gaelic vocal trio Sian produced their second album, Araon, accompanied by the release of its lead single, “Seo a’ Bhliadhna.” Rooted in the musical traditions of the Isle of Skye and Raasay, the track is a traditional lament linked to the MacLean family and features guest performances by James Lindsay and Charlie Stewart.
The album is co-produced by group member Innes White and Innes Strachan (Niteworks, LUSA), with recording and mixing handled by Iain Hutchison at GloWorm Recording.
According to vocalist Eilidh Cormack, the song reflects deep themes of love and loss: a composer mourning her siblings and her beloved, a “golden-haired hunter,” during a tragic year. Cormack notes the group aimed to honor the song’s emotional weight through a thoughtful arrangement.
Sian includes vocalists Ceitlin Lilidh, Eilidh Cormack, and Ellen MacDonald, with multi-instrumentalist Innes White.
